Default From address in Outlook and Exchange 2007

Hello, I am using Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007, and I have Send As
permission on a few e-mail accounts. Can I set one of them as the
default for my From field in new messages?

I am trying to do an e-mail merge from Word 2007, sending a newsletter
so it appears to come from my general-access address. If I set a
default From in Outlook, I'm sure the merge will use it. With POP/
IMAP, I could change my name in Account Settings, but I can't find
that with MAPI on Exchange. Any ideas?

Thanks.

you need to log into that mailbox if you want to use it for the from address
in a mail merge.

Thanks. The trick is, I'm trying to Send As a mail-enabled
distribution group. That way, replies will go to all of the project
team members in the group. I don't think anyone can log in as a
distribution group.

What I should do is delete the group and create a user with its
address. Then, share that user's mailbox to each team member and give
them all Send As. They'd all receive messages sent to that account
(though not in their main Inbox; they'd have to check the account's
Inbox). And, they could mail merge by logging in as that user (which
would prevent them from accessing their My Documents while not logged
in as themselves).

I'll see how this setup works. Thanks.

rather than go to that much work, I'd look for a different solution - like
creating a new profile with that address as a POP/SMTP account or see if any
mail merge utilities might meet your needs. A list of mass mail utilities is
