Hi,

Is it possible (registry tweak or otherwise) to change the default format in
which e-mail messages are save. Specifically I want to change the format from
'.html' to '.msg'

Regards and thanks in advance

Not an Office Outlook question. Outlook does not save anything as .html .

What? I'm not posting here for fun; I'm trying to solve a back-up
issue for a friend. If you don't understand the question please open
any e-mail message in Outlook 2003, click File|Save As - what format
does it offer you by default?

Mary is mistaken - Outlook has always offered to save as .htm, .msg., .oft,
or.txt, - but the default is always html. AFAIK, it cannot be changed.

The way you can save your e-mail depends on the way it is formatted by
the author.
Having a html e-mail gives the option to save it als htm.

I prefer the msg format, because no information is deleted.
Unfortunately it's not possible to set another default than the first
in that list (and that option is never *.msg).
