Default font reset

For some reason when I open a new document the font size reads Times Roman 12
pt but in the body of document the text is so small you cannot reay it. I try
to change the font size to no avail. I have tried to find where to reset the
default or change the text size but have been unsuccessful. Thanks.
 
Are you sure it's a font size issue? Perhaps your zoom level is set too low.
Choose View - Zoom, and set the level to 100% or higher.
 
If the Zoom ratio is not the issue, go to Format | Font and make sure the
text isn't formatted as superscript or subscript.
