default field values on forms

How can I get a field "recipient name" to default to the value held in
another field on the same form ("payee name")?
 
KJB,

Set the Recipient Name default value in the AfterUpdate event of the Payee
Name field:

Me![Recipient Name].DefaultValue = Me![Payee Name]

If it's possible that existing records have a blank Recipient Name, put the
code in the form's On Current event as well.
