Default Date Format

I used to know how to do this in earlier versions, but Excel 2007...how can I
change the default date format?

When I type in a date for the current year and do not include the year, such
as 4/15 versus 4/15/9, the default format is 15-Apr.

When I do enter the year, such as 4/15/9, I get a 4-digit date, 4/15/2009.

What I would like to have is in both cases is a default of 4/15/09.

Thanks in advance.

Excel 2007, like all versions of Excel, takes its date default from your
Windows settings. You need to go to Control Panel, then set your regional
settings the way you want.

Fred.
