In OL 2003, I have under Contacts the Contacts foler, as well as
two other folders, Prescott and Family. Is there a way that I
can make Prescott the default contacts folder - in other words,
when I click on Contacts in toolbar, the Prescott folder is
displayed.

Move the contents to Contacts folder, Set the Properties to Use this as an
address book. You cannot change the name of the Contacts folder, but you can
have subfolders. Use Folder List View for quick access to your folders
instead of the toolbar link.

You can't change the default Contacts folder. You can, however, have the
Address Book search the Prescott folder first when looking for addresses.
Make sure the subfolders are enabled as address books (right-click Prescott,
for example, choose Properties, click the Outlook Address Book tab, and
check the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book", click
OK). Open the Address Book (by clicking on the Address Book icon in the
Standard Toolbar), click Tools>Options, and select the order in which you'd
like Outlook to search your various contacts folders.

Thnks for the reply. Seems interesting that you can't change
the default contacts folder - but oh well. I had collected
names/addresses over 15 years while living in Atlanta. When
I moved to Prescott, I created a Prescott folder, and now
find myself using it more than the other. Guess I can always
create an Atlanta folder, copy everything from Contacts into
that, and then from Prescott into Contacts.
