Anyone here associated with Microsoft? I would like to see an honest answer
to this question. How does one keep IE from keeping/stealing default browser
status? This problem has only cropped up with my WinXP Prof install and
never occurred with ME. Both OS' have IE6. It does not make any difference
to set Firefox to default browser as IE6 will launch anytime it detects a
web connection. Plenty of others are having the same problem though they
have no clue as to the actual status of it. The people whom have an
"always-on" connection think IE6 is launching when they boot their
machines.I am pretty adept at getting around in my OS but after searching
forums web-wide have found no joy. There are"rumours" of a patch from
Microsoft for this but after a search all over their site I have come to
naught. The only reason a default browser status exists is to launch the
default browser and if this is not a bug it mayhap be time for litigation.
