'Q. Is DE a ‘Skin’ for IE?'

'A. Deepnet Explorer is a web browser application that utilizes the
Windows HTML rendering engine, enhancing it by adding new features and
functionality to that of IE. The features bring a new level of security,
speed and efficiency to the browsing experience.
IE browser consists of two components, the application and an HTML
rendering engine. In order to be 100% compatible with IE, Deepnet
Explorer uses IE’s HTML rendering engine, which is the only common
component that Deepnet Explorer shares with IE. Most of the security
flaws found so far are in IE itself, not in the HTML Engine. Therefore,
Deepnet Explorer does not inherit these security flaws from IE.'

If you like it also check out Avant <http://www.avantbrowser.com/> as it has
similar features. I prefer the user interface better.

<snipped>

I downloaded it and use it sometimes, however, it doesn't like NOT being the
default. Sometimes when I clicked the world famous 'blue e', Deepnet pops up.
I have to click "NO!" then shut it down a time or two. It doesn't do this every time,
but it takes spells when it is persistent, so much so I've been tempted to dump it.

Just my $.02 worth. It's ok, but nothing I can't live without.
