I have a few questions regarding regarding messenger with
a voice call session. Consider the input voice from the other party, is it
compressed when entering to my PC from the internet?
If positive, does anyone knows which filter in the directx graph is actually
decompressing it?

Thanks in advance

Mandi

Greetings Mandi,

Yes, in fact I don't believe many people have the bandwidth necessary for raw audio to be
streamed (especially live and with little latency).

The codec being used is SIREN (there's multiple codecs but assuming all users in question
have enough bandwidth and are using XP, it will
use SIREN).
