Decoder problem

Hello,
I am using Sonic MyDVD v 6.1.3 to try and import a wmv file and then
write it to DVD. I have done this with the same software at least 50 times
before! Of course, this time, when my son needs it for class tomorrow, I
get the message "One or more files could not be imported. The software
that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing
the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct
the problem."

I have tried the following:

1. Tried to play it in Windows Media Player to be sure that I have the
correct codecs. It played.

2. Created the wmv file again on another computer and then tried to import
it into MyDVD. Same problem.

3. Deleted all other video software on my pc. No luck.

4. Used Add/Remove programs to repair all Sonic software on my pc. Still
no luck.

Any ideas? THANKS!

You might download the WM encoder 9 series from microsoft, open the encoder
select,"convert audio/video",select the file,start the encoder.Once its
thru,move
to dvd using previous method...

Thank you! I may need that in the future. I actually fixed the problem
last evening by downloading everything Microsoft had in the way of video and
codecs. I installed them all, then restarted my computer. Voila! Don't
know exactly what fixed it, but my son is saved! Really appreciate your
help!
