Decimals

I just installed Office 2003 and while using Excel I

cannot get the fixed decimal places option to work as it
did in the previous version of Excel (2002). I have it
set to 2 in the drop down bos in the Options tab in the
tools menu. When I enter a number in a cell and press the
decimal key on my keyboard the number still appears as if
I did not press the decimal key and places two digits to
the right of the decimal point.

In the older version when I pressed the decimal key while
entering 126, 126.00 would appear in the cell. If I did
not press the key 1.26 would appear. In Excel 2003 1.26
always appears. The override does not function by
pressing the decimal point despite what the Microsoft's
online help says.

You need to enter a digit after the decimal place. For example,
enter "126.0" instead of "126.". This is indeed a change from
earlier versions of Excel.
