Decimal tab stops

I have a table of numbers that should be aligned by the decimal. However,
some of my numbers are ratios and Word seems to interpret the colon in the
ratio as a decimal. Is there a way I can prevent this? Below is an example.

(first row in table) 1:15.6
(second row) 5.8

Thanks

I suspect not. Word aligns the numbers on the first non-numeric character
aside from the thousands separator. You can fudge the alignment by adding
zeroes and a colon as necessary and then formatting them as Font Color:
White.
