I'd like to deactivate Word on one of my older computers so I can put it on
my new computer instead. I bought the Office Home and Student 2007 version
of word last year sometime, and I put it on 3 of my computers, as permitted.
Soon thereafter, I retired one of the laptops I had put it on, and rarely
used the PC I had put it on because it is a 32-bit Vista operating system
that totally sucks! Now I have a decent computer and I want to remove it
from one of the other computers and put it on this one instead - rather than
paying the $149 to get a new copy. I can't find the Tech Support number that
came with my program anymore, and it looks like they're charging a ridiculous
amount to help people using the Tech Support number I found online. Does
anyone know whether or not I can do that, and if so, what is the number I
call to take care of that? Thanks!

There isn't any concept of "deactivating" Office. You just install the program
in the new computer. When it contacts the Microsoft server to activate the new
copy, it should say that the licenses have all been used, and give you a
telephone number to call. Talk to the support specialist to get a new activation
key. There is no charge for this.
