De-encrypt a word 2003 file

Hi

My computer chrashed last week and I reinstalled Win XP and Office 2003
When I now try to open up a encrypted word 2003 document I get a failure
notice
that I don't have access to the file.
I encrypted it by using the encryption tool in the properties tab for files.

How can I solve this issue?

Hi Marc. There are two main ways to encrypt an Office file, and it sounds
like you used Windows-based encryption. To decrypt the file, you will need to
use your Windows decryption key from your previous Windows installation.
Hopefully you have a copy or backup of the key, or a complete backup of your
old Windows installation.
