DDR and DDR2 compatability

I have a Toshoba Sattelite notebook (M35 series), takes PC2700 memory. NewEgg has a good price on a 1GB DDR2 (PC2 4200) memory module. Will the DDR2 memory work or are they different architectures?

Different. You cannot use DDR2 on DDR.

You did not think a manufacturer would make your life so easy ... not in computers.
