DDE freeze in Excel

I can create DDE links fine in standard version of Excel 2003. But when I
try to create one in the Microsoft Office 2003 Excel Professional Version,
excel freezes. I've tried this on several computers. The computers with
Professiona freeze, while the ones with Standard version work great. What's
the problem
