Dcpromo Failure

I am installing Active Directory on a server in our domain
and I am getting the following error

The operation failed because: Failed to modify the
necessary properties for the machine account SERVER$
"Access is denied. "
Type the user name and password of an account with
sufficient privileges to creat an additional domain
controller for the xxxxx.com domain


I am using the original Admin account that created the
forest and have several domain contollers all working
perfectly. I have tried:

but these don't work.

I have also tried creating a new Enterprise Admin to see
if that works.

I can't find any other resources to help me on this... if
anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appeciate it.

Try again. I have never seen any other issues than that described in
QArticles.

I have tried, many times, I have even scrubbed the server
and started again.

Any other ideas?

Can an Enterprise Admin have rights taken away? The Ent
Admin Security tab boxes are all greyed and ticked showing
that they have inherited down to the Domain Contollers
OU.

I have edited the Domain Controllers policy (enable
computer and user accounts to be trusted...) and checked
the ntds rights as well...
