DCPROMO - failure trying to promote a server to DC

hi all,

I am having a problem install active directory on a newly install member
server. Using dcpromo the operation fails with the following
The Operation Faild Because:
failed To Modify The Necessary Properties For The Machine Account
PRODUCTIONSERVE$ "Acecess Denied"

any help would be gratefully received

When you run Dcpromo.exe to create a replica domain controller, you receive
the "Failed to modify the necessary properties for the machine account.
Access is denied." error message

hi jorge,

thanks for the prompt reply. fixed the problem, somehow the delegation
policy had been changed, changed it back and now can promote the server.

Hello,

I am having the same problem but when I try and change the default
domain policy it is coming up you maybe denied access.

DCdiag comes back ok though.

Please help me?
