DCDIAG gives strange error with LDAP Services Check

I have just reinstalled a DC in an all windows 2000 AD. The server does not
have any roles on it. Is running DNS and WINS.
when I run dcdiag /e /c /v and pipe it to a file this is the error I get:
Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\HEKA
Starting test: Connectivity
* Active Directory LDAP Services Check
The host †& could not be resolved to a valid IP address.
Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc
......................... HEKA failed test Connectivity
DNS and WINS show that it is listed correctly. Has static IP. All patches
to date.
I have no idea where to go from here.

Yes, that's an old bug. There's a couple of other ones too.

A good thing to remember is that dcdiag is a support tool and the support
tools aren't part of the OS. When the OS is SP'd, the support tools aren't
updated. You should always run the support tools that come with latest SP.

The point that I have made over and over again! If you install a Service
Pack ( for example, running SP3 and you install SP4 ) then you should
uninstall the current Support Tools and install the Support Tools from the
Service Pack 4 CD-Media.

I might also suggest that you run all of these types of things ( dcdiag,
netdiag, repadmin, replmon, netmon, etc. ) from a workstation on which you
have installed the ADMINPAK as Support Tools. Better to do this stuff on a
workstation than on the Domain Controllers themselves....

Although, there are a lot of ways that you can do this: RDP, VNC, etc. etc.
etc.
