I removed a DC from AD the server is not in AD but still

If the DC was removed via Dcpromo it can take some time
to fully be aware that it no longer exists. If it was the
only DC in the AD domain, you may have to modify the
registry manually and then run some cleanup on the
directory structure of the server itself. There is a
Value in the registry which reads something like ServerNT
and it must be changed to LanManNT. Do a search on
manually removing AD from a server. Keep in mind that
this NOT supported by Microsoft unless you follow their
exact steps. You may need a call to MS PSS to get that.

More details and I may be able to assist further. Good
luck.
