dbx files to pst

How do I convert .dbx files into .pst files for Outlook?
I saved all my e-mails to a CD, but when XP was loaded
onto my computer, I can't retrieve any of the saved e-
mail from Outlook Express into Outlook.

Don't be afraid; you are correct David.

First, copy the items from your CD to your harddisk and remove the "read
only" file property on the files.

In OE goto Tools-> Options-> tab Maintenance-> button Store Folder to
locate/configure your store folder. Once you've got this configured you can
use the Export function in Outlook Express.

Thanks, but OE doesn't seem to recongnize the dbx files.
After doing all those things, I still get a message that
says "No messages can be found in this folder or another
application is running that has the required files open.
Please select another folder or try closing applications
that may have files open." - There are no other
applications running that require the files. Any other
suggestions? Any way to convert the dbx files to pst
files?

There are complete instructions for importing .DBX files into OE at
http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you don't find what you need there,
you will need to post in an OE newsgroup -- we can help you find one if
you have trouble. Once you get the data into OE, it can be exported to
Outlook on the same machine.
