Days to keep pages in history

Hello,

I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this question, but I
have been unable to find a resolution.

I don't want my history saved. No matter what I set
my "Days to Keep Pages in History" to, the websites still
remain. I am able to delete the history without a
problem. I was just wondering why that option didn't
seem to do anything.

I use IE 6 on XP Professional.
