Day 1

It's now my first day without any form of NRT.
I managed to give up & be clear for about 9 months a few years back, but it's strange not putting on a patch or popping some gum to get an instant hit. More info on NRT HERE

I ain't had a fag or any form of NRT since April 18th 2006.

And yes, I do feel better for it, a lot better.

I really could have done without this 16" scar though......

I tried twicw this year . Best I could manage was three weeks . Thats with no help though , i'm stubborn . I'm going to give it a go with the patches in a week or so . So really well done mate . Now no falling by the wayside . Keep putting that fag money away for new pc parts .

On a friday night i used to smoke 40+ Em***sy no 1 or Bendon & credges on a boys night out...got married for the second time and packed in about 4 1/2 years ago feel loads better... i estimated i smoked 25 a day for 365 days for 15 years....

A total of 136,875 fags..

I feel so much better from day 1 though

As for treatment.....in this order


1.. Will power
2. Patches
3. Opal Fruits by the bucket load...
4.. a night at the pub having 2 pints..........resisting the need to light up

+ telling your m8`s I really have given up ...follow this and it all gets better up to the point it makes you sick to smell the smoke..

It's a tough addiction to break so you deserve any congratulations we can give you
It gets better in the long term too
I was most surprised the second winter after I gave up when I didn't get any bronchitis or anything. I had forgotten it was possible to get through winter without any sort of chest infection. I couldn't believe how good I felt!
So stick at it. It really is worth it

I commend anyone that gives up. I know it's hard and i'm a strict non smoker
However I have had family.....well i'm sure we all have! You know what i'm getting at. I repeatedly have a go at Lucas's mum for restarting and I knw she's trying really hard.

SO anyway well done and also anyone else whos trying aswell and thankyou!
I hate it and become very upset when people become ill due to stuff like this

Keep it going Feck. You can do it.

Get yourself a Peak Flow Meter from your fag savings - they're quite cheap - and watch your breathing ability improve over the months. It's a great incentive.

Bit grumpy today, some would say whats new.

Nivrip i have been of the smokes for 10 years, just got hooked on NRT instead!!
It is strange not going for the gum when i feel a bit stressed or putting on a patch easch day.

Well I am getting a little slower in me dottage but I think I could just about keep up too speed here .
