I've seen this come up a few times, can anyone tell me what it is?

Are you running Exchange Server?

Google turned up a reference to a MS KB article about a different problem
with davex on Exchange.
 
Yes, I have Exchange Server. I tried MS KB but could not find anything
about it.
 
I'd recommend checking with one of the Exchange newsgroups. Looks like
there are several out there.
