datetime stamp on form when table edited

I would like to have a datetime stamp on a form that
represents the last time the table was edited. Does code
already exist for this?

It's not clear to me what you have in mind. When you say "the last time
the table was edited", do you mean:

(a) the last time the current record (as displayed on the form) was
modified?

(b) the last time any record in the table was modified?

(c) the last time the design of the table was changed (e.g., fields
added or deleted, or the type of a field was changed)?

(d) the last time the record or the table was viewed?

(e) something else entirely?
