Dates changing when i change the time on an appointment

R

Retta

Help. I schedule trips for people who charter our buses. I start the
appointment sometimes with a time and sometimes without, but I always have
the days set. When I then change it to a time leaving and returning. It
changes the dates without my doing so. If they then make a change to that
time - it will change the time to be accurate but again change the date - and
sometimes I don't catch it. It wasn't a real problem until recently. I'm
not sure why. I have Outlook 2003 and it has messed up one trip for picking
people up and I just found another one today - changed the time and the dates
changed again. Can you help me?

How much are the times and dates changing? By a full hour (or multiple of an
hour) or by weird amounts? If by a full hour, it could be a problem with
the time zone or daylight time setting.

Actually, it isn't the time that changes - it is the dates. I checked the
time set-up on the Outlook. It will record my times - let us say the start
time changes from 1 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. - and then the end time adjusts also -
though I didn't change it. But the beginning date may change and so will
the ending date and all of a sudden, I don't have the right dates?

The end time adjusts by the same amt as you changed the start time? does
that push it into the next day or does the day change to some totally
unrelated date?

Yes to answer the end time question. And the date changes to some completely
different unrelated date like day before or the next day. By that I mean
that the beginning time I changed should still be on the same date - and it
changes to the date before for no reason. The end date changes sometimes
because the amount of time stays the same, but it can also change to an
unrelated date. I wish I understood but it is driving me crazy. Is there a
setting where it leaves the dates the way I want them and I can change the
time. Thanks for helping.

Okay - checked the times on the computer and the set-up for time on Outlook.
All are set the same - eastern time US & Canada and the daylight saving time
is checked for both settings. The times show the same time when I'm working.
It is causing havoc when we are planning these trips and I've use dthis for
over 2 years and it has never been this bad. Was there an update that would
have changed how this worked???

I do believe I have the most current update. I will check. It says SP3.
The problem is it might be the update. It didn't work like this until
recently. It was strange really, because we have used this system with our
scheduling since July 2006. and it is only recently that it seems to be
causing this problem.
