How in word can i insert the date and/or time in left margin at every hard
return?

I once read of an extension you could rename a .doc to and when you opened
the file, it would opne in word and have the date/time in the left margin at
every hard return for things like recording when you wrote a note.

(I know there are other ways to do this, but I need to know this method).
Thanks.

Notepad (not Word) has this feature. You begin the file with:
..LOG

Putting something to the left of the left margin in Word is possible. Is
that what you want?
Inserting a date/time stamp is also possible. You could write a macro that
combines these.

Which version of Word are you using?
