Date textbox displays #NAME? instead of current date

I have an Access 2000 database with forms that display the
current date (default of date()) when the form is opened.
This works on all PCs except one, which worked previously,
but now displays #NAME? instead of the date and freezes up
when you try to manually enter the date. Everything else
works fine.

I saw an item in Access Help about checking for a missing
file, msowcf.dll, but that is present on the PC.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi

Go into any Module and check your references i.e. Tools/References and check if
any are flagged as missing. If yes simply click on the reference to remove it

Open any module in Design view.
On the Tools menu, click References.
Click to clear the check box for the type library or object library
marked as "Missing:."

An alternative to removing the reference is to restore the referenced
file to the path specified in the References dialog box. If the
referenced file is in a new location, clear the "Missing:" reference
and create a new reference to the file in its new folder.

See Microsoft KnowledgeBase articles:
283115 'ACC2002: References That You Must Set When You Work with Microsoft
Access'
Or for Access 97:
175484 'References to Set When Working With Microsoft Access' for
the correct ones needed,
and

how to reset a missing one.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there are no missing
references. I guess we will try uninstalling and
reinstalling Access next.

Sometimes references are messed up without being MISSING. Try opening
the References list; select some additional reference (it doesn't
matter what so long as it exists on your computer). Close and open
Access and unselect it. This will force the program to relink and may
solve the problem. Reinstalling Access will probably NOT help.
