Hi Group,
Just got back from a client's feeling very frustrated...I've finished
building a database & stayed up late last night making sure that it
worked... it did! So, arrive at client's just after lunch, installed it &
hey presto... it doesn't work properly!!
The main issues appear to be to do with it not recognising the Date() &
Time() functions and the "Chr(34)" in a string. I even tried using the
expression builder to re-create the useage of the Date() function, but to no
avail.

So, having assured the client that 75% of the database was still working ok
& that I would resolve the other issues, I returned back to the office,
having checked their Version - Access 2000 (v 9.0.6926 SP3). Upon checking,
I use Access 2000 (9.0.2720). "Ah Ha", I cried mightily, "Bet it's something
to do with SP3!!"

So, I had a poke around the Access newsgroups & found some items to do with
"Broken references" & how to resolve. So I'm going into the client's on
Monday to have a go at resolving this by unchecking the references that show
"missing" . However, what do I do if this doesn't work? Does the client need
to consider re-installing Access & re-run the upgrade, or is it the DB
that's at fault?

Interestingly, when I was having a look at the help files in Access, most of
the references were to "...Worksheet function"... i.e Excel help!!

Any comments would be of interest.

Regards
Colin Foster

It's almost certainly a broken reference. Doug Steele has the most
comprehensive page on dealing with broken references that I know of. You
may already have seen it, but here's the URL:

Very good, Colin. You're welcome, though you seem to have had it well
in hand without me.
