Date formatting in Mail Merge

Melissa

Hi,

I am trying to merge a document and the date format is
coming up with US date formatting, although my PC is
configured for Australian date formatting. I have
formatted the date correctly in Excel (my data source) to
reflect dd mmmm (eg: 15 Sept), however, when it merges to
word it comes up as mm/dd/yy. I've tried right clicking
and editing the field and adding in the correct date
format, however, then it just gives me today's date.

Any suggestions?

Hi Melissa

i've often considered moving to the US and then it might be easier to work
with microsoft products :)

failing that when you've created your mail merge doc in word, press the Alt
& F9 keys to see the field code & edit the date field code to read as
follows
Instead of {MERGEFIELD Date} it should look like {MERGEFIELD Date
\@DD/MM/YY}

then do your merge - hope this helps

Cheers
