Date format

The date format keeps changing when we transfer excel files over the network
from my boss' computer to the other two computers. On his computer, it will
be in the format MM/DD/YY, and when it is transferred, the date changes to
M/D/YYYY. How do we fix this to display the date in MM/DD/YY on all our
computers?

In Control Panel > Regional and Language Options>Customize you can set the
short date formats as m/d/yy or mm/dd/yy or m/d/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy. You
should decide which you want to use and set them to match.

Why shouldn't the date format setting in MS Excel override the setting in
Control Panel pertaining to the date format?
