Date file error

Why on opening Outlook 2007 do I often get "data file did not close properly,
must scan data file"? It happens even after Office is manually closed and
then OS/PC is shut down using the Shut Down selection.

You may have something holding the Data file open such as fax software, Add
Ins, Search Tools, etc. Check your Add Ins in particular. Remove them one at
a time, testing Outlook inbetween.

Have you scanned your data file for errors as per the error message? Search
your harddrive for scanpst.exe. When it's located, double-click it and follow
the instructions to locate your PST and let it scan for errors. Do this
repeatedly until no errors are fine. Make sure Outlook is closed while you
perform this. Once you scan and find no further errors, open Outlook and test
it.

If you upgraded from Outlook 2003, create a new profile:
