Database subform

Need some help with subforms in Access2003

I have a database that has an input form for PO number generation and a
subform the is for the items ordered. The form and subform date is saved in
individual tables linked by the PO#

I copied the form and subform for a second company that I want to track in
the same manner. Have a big problem in that the second subform data is
overwriting the table for the first company. I am lost on how to correct.

Assistance is greatly appreciated

Mitch,

Copying forms does NOT copy the tables. You would need to either create a
second set of tables and rebind the copied forms to them OR devise a way to
store PO's from two different Company's.

By correcting the recordsource of your subform... which you have chosen not to
post!

What is the Recordsource for the main form? For the subform? What are the
Master and Child Link Fields?

And do you in fact have a DIFFERENT FORM for each Company? That would be a
real mistake I fear...

Thanks for your reply Gina, I did establish two new tables for the new form
and sub form. The main form is saving the information to the correct table
but the subform is overwriting the information on the original "item" table.

You used the term "rebind", can you elaborate on that information.

Hey, I think your hint about the record source was the fix. Made a
correction to the record source for the sub form and things look to be
recording properly now.

How great. Thanks,

John, I followed the suggestion from Gina to change the record source on my
subform and it is working now. Thanks for the assist.
