I find out that the owner of current database in access 97 is <unknown> .
Does this prevent me to input the database properties? And how can I change
the owner? THanks.

Hi,
it means that user, who was owner, is deleted, or you started access using
another workgroup file. so you can either connect to proper workgroup file,
or take ownership of database, if you have enough permissions

The change-owner button greyed out and therefore I cannot change the owner.
Any help. THanks.

I created a db with the "system.mdw" and when I went to the "change owner"
tab, the "change owner" button was greyed out. I have also created a db with
a "secured.mdw," signed in as the owner with the correct .mdw and the button
was still greyed out.

Should I use ADOX?

Thanks for any help.
