Database Access

I am using VS.net 2005 and CF 2.0, i have access file (.mdb) and i want to
connect to this file from VS.net , but when i make the connection i cant find
any dataset created and sometimes it is created but with errors, so is the
problem that CF 2.0 doesnt support connection to Access files, and i have to
use SQL windwos ce or convert the access file to XML file?
All i want is to use the access file without any other component like sql ce
or converting the file to xml. is that possible?
thanks in advance...

Tamer,

What you want to do is not possible since there is no support for Pocket
Access on WM 5.0. If the amount of data is small, I'd suggest XML - and if
it's large, use a 3rd party product like this one to move data to/from SQL
CE: www.primeworks.pt.

Try www.InTheHand.com. Peter Foote is a mobile MVP that has written an ADOCE
wrapper for .cdb files for .Net. He also has a 'free' version to start
testing with. I have been using that. It's the only one I know of.
I started using it with VS2003. I haven't tried it with 2k5 yet. He also has
an active forum that is VERY helpful and will also take direct emails.

Tamer,

Pocket Access doesn't work in Windows Mobile 5 and in the future. It's not
really a good choice any more.

it may not be supported, but it does work

the only part that doesn't is the database sync/transfer with activesync and
supposedly that is being worked on
