Data Transfer Problems

Hi all can`t figure this out when i normally transfer data from my C: drive to my external drive say a file of 2Gig it usually takes approx 2 to 3 mins now all of a sudden it is taking up to 45 mins to transfer the same amount of data anyone got any suggestions what could be causing this.Drive has been defraged

OS Windows XP Home Edition with Servicepack 2
 
If you happened to copy lots of smaller files that equal 2GB it will take much longer than a few files totally 2GB? The only other thing I can think of is that your drive is not using a USB2 connection anymore.

Could you double check you have a USB2 host controller?:
