Hi there,
I have a spreadsheet with roughly 7664 records. When trying to capture
another record I get an error as below. We are using the ~Data~Form method to
capture new records. I enter the form, click on New and try to enter data,
and the following error occurs:

Cannot extend list or database.

I have checked if there are any data below the "new record" and none was
found.

Any help will be appreciated.

Do you have anything under that area that isn't part of the range used with
Data|Form?

Maybe just selecting the whole range would help excel not see two different
areas.

No, I made absolutely sure there is no data below this range - I even
deleted the whole range (entire row) below this.

Is the worksheet protected and are any of the cells locked?

You may want to share the version of excel that you're using.
 
None of the below - no protection; no loced cells. I have actually copied all
data into another sheet and it seems fixed now - There was obviously some
data sitting somewhere that was preventing us from entering more data -
strange thing though.
