Data Execution Prevention Problem

I installed SP2 a few weeks ago without problem. Last night, I installed a
new printer - a HP 2610 - and ever since, I have been getting a DEP error
continually - "To help protect this computer, Windows has closed this
program: Generic Host Processes for Win32 Services". On the advice of HP, I
disabled virtually all startup programs, but I still get the error
intermittently. I next set DEP to turn on for all programs except those I
select, and I selected "Generic Host Processes for Win32 Services". I still
get the error intermittently. I'm wondering if what DEP wants is the program
that is causing the error but I don't know how to tell that. In any event,
can someone help?

Thanks

Here's the Knowledge Base article explaining what DEP is:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=875352

And here's a very clear explanation of the problem and how to deal with
it:

Hi Bob,

I had the same problem with my HP2510.

I figured out the problem is with the HP Update program
"hpwuschd2.exe" which launches at Windows start up.
I used msconfig to stop this launching at startup and no more DEP
error messages.
There is a separate "HP Software Update" in the HP group in Run/All
Programs - so you can manually update the HP software.
