I have built a database with Microsoft Access, but
I need to produce a Data
Dictionary.
Problem is, I have no idea how to do this!
"Data Dictionary" has different meanings to different people in different
contexts. If you can define what the "Data Dictionary" you need to product
is supposed to contain, then perhaps someone can help.
Problem is, this sounds suspciously like a school homework assignment and we
try not to deny students the learning experience of doing their own
homework. However, if on the Database Window, you click Tools | Analyze |
Documenter and explore the options, that's the extent of the documentation
that you can extract just using Access. Whether it meets your requirements
or not, only you, and the person who defines "data dictionary" to you can
determine.
In general, products with which I have worked that had a part called data
dictionary had descriptions of the data elements, units if they were
numeric, what they were used for, etc. -- not all of which are available in
the Access Documenter.
