'DAT FILE'

When I boot up my computer I keep getting this message. You are attempting
to open a file of type 'DAT FILE' (.dat) What does it mean?

go to start>and in the run box type
MSCONFIG and press ENTER
go to the STARTUP tab and see if there is any entry there of a file with a
..DAT extension and remove it, restart and see if its ok.
