I would like my typed program to have a variety of dashes; can't find them in
Word; tried adding it as an option from'Word Options' with no success; Help!

Type hyphen with the hyphen key, type en-dash with Ctril-minus (on the
keypad), type em-dash with Ctrl-Alt-minus (on the keypad). Is that
what you meant?

There's also an AutoFormat As You Type option that changes two hyphens
into either an en- or an em-dash (depending wheither there's a space
before them or not), but it also turns any leading hyphen into an en-
dash, which is unacceptable, so I don't have it turned on (except in
PowerPoint, where there seems to be no other way to enter the dashes).

There is an Insert Symbol command in PPT. I find, oddly, that an inserted
symbol of this type doesn't actually appear until you type the next letter
after it. I am unable to fathom the thinking that went into that behavior!

I even put it on my PP QAT, but since PP won't do personal keyboard
shortcuts, I found it was simpler to type accented stuff in Word and
drag it over.
