dashes and the right arrow key

In excel 2003 I hit the dash key in a cell becusae it is null to me, then I
press the right arrow, and it will create a subtraction calculation, I know
if I hit the tab key it will not do this, but is there a way so I can use the
dash in one cell and then press the right arrow to move to the next column
without it caluculating?
any help would be great

Just a thought!

Would it help to change the direction after "Enter" to "Right"?

That way you could use <Enter> to exit the cell without calculating.

<Tools> <Options> <Edit> tab.

the second post was a mistake, the least you could do is give me the benifit
of the doubt and ignored it, I tried to remove it, and as far as know there
isn't away, so
