In browsing folder Windows/Download Installations, I found the following 4Kb file with the status listed as "Damaged" and created 9/6/2002 (wich happens to be the date I purchased my PC): {9F1C11A4-197B4942-BA54-47A8489BB47F}
Does th Damaged mean anything and should I ignore this file? All my graphics etc. seem to work OK.

It is probably an ActiveX file and would have been replaced by now.
You can rightclick it and click Delete, if it goes to the Recycle Bin leave
it there for a few days JIC (just in case).

hmm, never seen a file be named damaged, automatically by windows. Maybe
it's a result of a chkdsk. What you could do is to relocate it to a temp
directory and run your pc for a few days, maybe weeks and see if you pc can
function without it. My guess is that it will. Afterwards I would do some
house cleaning and see if running CleanMgr will clean out your temp
folder.....
