I recently got DSL and I didn't know that it was
downloading tons of spyware in the background. I then found
that internet explorer wouldn't load pages anymore, and
outlook couldn't find my e-mail server to get messages. I
was told by the computer place that the spyware had done
damage to the Internet explorer programs when they were
removed. So I am now using Mozilla and Netscape to do my
internet activites and I am about to throw my computer out
the nearest window. I would like to know if anyone knows
how I could repair this damage without taking it back to
where I bought it.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
