Daily crash: how to figure out?

I leave my computer running overnight. Every morning, it's frozen. The
mouse won't move. I have to do a cold reboot (turn off and on).

How can I figure out what is causing this? It happens even if no
programs are running.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

The first place to look for clues is in Event Viewer.

Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter]

If there are no clues, then it is probably a hardware issue. Perhaps the
machine is overheating or components are failing when in use for a long
time. Here are general hardware troubleshooting steps:

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA). Have
all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.
