Havent seen any for the 9800Pro's. Wondered how this compares?

800x600 High Quality - 43.5fps (2nd run)
1024x768 High Quality - 40.1fps (2nd run)

Everything on balanced in display properties. No O/C.

AMD Barton XP2800+
ABIT NF7-S(2)
1GB 3200 Twinmos DDR (2x512 sticks)
Sapphire 9800Pro (Omegas 4.7)
Audigy
Win XP Pro
DX 9.0c
TruePower 430W PSU

Hi,

Also using a 9800Pro at stock speeds, I'm getting:

800x600 HQ - 48.8fps
+2xAA - 44.0fps
+4xAA - 33.2fps
1024x768 HQ - 40.2fps
+2xAA - 34.1fps
+4xAA - 24.1fps

System spec:
AMD Barton XP2500, o/c to 200x11
Asus A7N8X 2.0 Dlx
1GB Corsair XMS3200LL (2x512)
Catalyst 4.4 drivers

Will upgrade to latest Catalysts a bit later and see what difference it
makes if any.

Only loosely related to the post I guess but how good does D3 look @ 800 x
600?

Still looks pretty good. TBH unless you stop to admire the scenery
you're not going to notice the difference between 800x600 and 1024x768
in normal gameplay, and anything above 1024x768 requires more power than
a 9800Pro can provide tbh.

I've now upgraded to the Catalyst 4.9 Betas, here's the revised results
with increased speed percentages in brackets.

800x600 HQ - 55.5fps (13.7%)
+2xAA - 46.9fps (6.6%)
+4xAA - 33.6fps (1.2%)
1024x768 HQ - 42.2fps (5%)
+2xAA - 35.0fps (2.6%)
+4xAA - 24.5fps (1.7%)

Obviously worth the upgrade from 4.4, though I can't say what they'd be
like from a more recent version.

It looks like the improvements are most evident with no or little
anti-aliasing. The most marked improvement, however, is that the
standard High Quality settings, which makes me think they've
deliberately targetted improving performance with these settings.

FWIW, at standard Ultra Quality settings, I got 34.5fps.

Bother because thats an average score over the length of the demo and drops
significantly lower at points. Plus less than 40 fps isn't enough imo.
People seem to be regressing to the old q2 30fps limit days, my 9800pro has
spoiled me until far cry came along and made me turn AA down to 2x and drop
to 1024 res... :-( Doom3 is even worse from the 2 minutes I tried it...
