Havent seen any for the 9800Pro's. Wondered how this compares?

800x600 High Quality - 43.5fps (2nd run)
1024x768 High Quality - 40.1fps (2nd run)

Everything on balanced in display properties. No O/C.

AMD Barton XP2800+
ABIT NF7-S(2)
1GB 3200 Twinmos DDR (2x512 sticks)
Sapphire 9800Pro (Omegas 4.7)
Audigy
Win XP Pro

Your system is really damn close to mine.

AMD Barton 2500+ @ 2.22 GHz
MSI K7N2-L
1 Gb PC2700 Corsair XMS ((2x256)+512 Dual Channel)
ATI 9800 Pro (4.9 Beta) @ 391/357
Audigy
Win XP Pro
DirectX 9.0c
True Power 430W

1024x768 High Quality - 43.6 fps average of 5 runs without first run.
Haven't bothered with 800x600

And that's with VSync enabled and triple buffering turned on in the
control panel.

Yup but my 9800Pro's running at stock 378/337.5. Havent tried O/C this card
(its pretty new). Are you using additional cooling etc? VSYNC enabled here
as well, dont know about triple buffering. Using 2xAA for in game -
acceptably smooth gameplay and nicer graphics (IMO). Shaun

I've got an arctic cooler on mine, I usually overclock it to 405/371 but
I read so many sparklie stories with the 9800 pro that I lowered it a bit.
Some people have had to *underclock* their cards to avoid getting the
little white spots.
Triple Buffering can be found in the OpenGL element of the 3D settings
tab, hit the compatibility button.

in Doom3 only.

Inglo, how difficult is it to fit an arctic cooler? Thanks, Shaun

Takes 10 minutes (well, putting on the thermal compound carefully might
add a little), I got mine for $15.

Ive got an almost identical system. Only difference is that I am using an MSI NForce mobo (MSI K7N2
ILSR) , PC2700 mem and mobo 5.1 sound (but that shouldnt matter because the demo is silent)

I see 37fps for 1024x768, but you seem to be getting higher than me even though I am OCing
(430/370). Dont see any sparkles because I have an arctic fitted, but then again, I dont seem to
see a performance increase in this game either :(

Are you OCing? Otherwise it may be that the XP2800 is the limiting factor for both of us.

Oh, btw, I get about 6200-6300 in 3Dmark2003

No overclocking on this PC at all but have started to 'tune' the game to my
system. Only thing tried so far is a change in the doomconfig.cfg file.
Scrolled down to the anisotropy setting (seta image_anisotropy) and changed
it from "8" to "2". This seems to be the biggest framerate killer in high
quality for me and its allowed me to play smoothly at high quality with
2xAA. Shaun

Are those test 1 or test 2 results? Your system is even more identical
to mine; K7N2-L, PC2700, Arctic Cooler .
The first run I average 37-38 second run 43-44 fps. In case you missed
it, almost everyone is using a second run through when reporting
benchmark results.
Run with vsync enabled in game and triple buffering enabled in OpenGL
control panel.
I don't have quite the overclock on my card and I get a little less than
6100 in 3DMark03.

You didn't say which drivers you're using.

Getting 5700 in 3DMark here but no o/c and Omega drivers (not the best for
benching). Might have to look at a new cooler and o/cing the card. Shaun
