D-Link Router & Messenger

I've read some of the messages here but I'm still not clear how to
have my new D-Link Router allow video conferences in WIndows
Messenger.
Do I have to configure something in the ROuter to allow this or is it
automatic if the UPNP service is running in Windows XP?

What about Windows Firewall? I don't see any settings in this for
Messenger
