"D:\ is not accessible...Incorrect Function"

My Samsung DVD-ROM (SD-616T) drive is giving me this message as I'm trying to
install a PC game, even though it works for other such CD-ROMs. I've gotten
this message before with CD's I'd burned and assumed I'd done something wrong
in the process. I tried checking for driver updates and found none.
