Cyclic redundancy check

Can anyone tell me how to read a DVD to my hard drive
that keeps coming up with the message "cyclic redundancy
check" The disc is not scratched, but I am suspecting
that the disc is of poor quality, thanks

This error usually means that the diskette is defective.
